About boat reservations
You are currently visiting the website of the Zamami Village Tourism Association.
Please note that the Tourism Association does not handle boat reservations. They are managed directly by the Zamami Village Office. These two organizations are strictly independent. The information provided below is for reference only.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The High-Speed Boat Queen Zamami will be undergoing its annual maintenance between November 4th, 2025 and December 19th, 2025. During this time, only the Ferry Zamami will be connecting Tomari Port (Naha) with Zamami Village.
Morever, the connection between Tokashiki Village (Aharen Port) and Zamami Village will be suspended between November 1st, 2025 and January 3rd, 2026 due to renovation work in Aharen Port and then new year holidays.
Boats from Tomari Port (Naha) to Zamami/Aka
Access to Zamami Village (including Zamami, Aka, and Geruma) is typically possible by boat.
Before getting to Zamami Village, the following points must be taken into consideration:
- Boats between Naha and Zamami Village may be canceled due to adverse weather conditions (strong wind, high waves...) to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. The decision to cancel or not is made each morning around 8 AM for that day.
It can be difficult to predict whether the boats will depart until the actual day of departure. If you choose to stay overnight in Zamami Village, it is your responsibility to stay informed about weather conditions and decide whether to leave earlier if necessary. Neither Zamami Village nor any other organization in the village can be held responsible if you are unable to leave the following day due to weather-related cancellations.
- If you arrive in Zamami Village without a return ticket, please be aware that boats can become fully booked. Zamami Village cannot be held responsible if you are unable to return to Naha as scheduled due to a lack of available seats. It is your responsibility to plan your return trip in advance.
If the boats are not fully booked, you can purchase tickets directly at the counter on the day of your departure, either at Tomari Port in Naha or at Zamami or Aka ports if you are returning from the village.
However, boats frequently sell out. Therefore, it is highly recommended to book in advance, especially if you are visiting during the high season (May to November) or planning a day trip.

There are 3 ways to make a reservation for the boats.
Unfortunately, boat reservations cannot be made via email at this time.
① Online
Click on the link below, then select "To Reservation Form," followed by "Reservation Form."
- Please note that the website may not be accessible from certain smartphone models. If it does not work, you can try to change the settings of your browser on your phone to open the "desktop version" of the website instead of the "mobile version". You can find here a short tutorial for iPhone's users.
Please use a different smartphone or a computer if it does not work.
- If you plan to return to Naha on a different type of boat than the one you took to Zamami (e.g., you arrived on the Ferry but plan to depart on the High-Speed Boat Queen Zamami), you will need to make two separate bookings.
② By Phone
To make a booking by phone, please call the Naha Ticket Office at:
+81 98-868-4567 (10am-5pm).
- English-speaking staff are available, so feel free to call.
- When making a reservation by phone, payment is not required during the call. You will pay at the main ticket office in Tomari Port before boarding (reservations can be made up to 1 month before your travel date).
- If you are in Japan and just have a Sim card with data (no call included), you may use apps like Talk360, Call Centric (at your own responsibility) to call a number using internet.
③ At the counter in Tomari Port
You can visit the counter at Tomari Port (Naha) in person a few days before your trip to make a booking.
Caution: This is possible only in Tomari Port. Return tickets cannot be booked at the counter in Zamami or Aka port before the day of your departure. For example, if you plan to return to Naha on September 15th, you cannot purchase your ticket at the Zamami ticket office on September 14th—you must wait until the 15th. To book a return ticket before your departure date, please call the Naha Ticket Office or book online.
If you need to change or cancel your reservation:
Changes and cancellations must be made by phone by calling the Naha Ticket Office at +81 98-868-4567 (10am-5pm). Cancellations can additionally be made online if you have made an online booking. Be aware that it might take up to two months before you receive your refund.
Any inquiries must be made by phone through the Naha Ticket Office. The Zamami Village Tourism Association will not be able to reply to any of your questions regarding boat reservations.
Boat between Zamami Island, Aka Island and Tokashiki Island (Aharen Port)
The small municipal boat, Mitsushima, connects Zamami Port and Aka Port daily, with six departures each day. On the 2nd and 5th departures, the boat extends its route to include Tokashiki (Aharen Port) in addition to Zamami and Aka.
How to Buy Tickets:
Between Zamami and Aka
If you're traveling between Zamami and Aka on the Mitsushima, no reservation is required (and reservations are not possible). You can look at the schedule below and choose the appropriate time for you. For the first departure at 7:45 a.m. from Zamami to Aka, you must pay in cash directly to the captain. For all other departures, please visit the Ticket Office in Zamami or Aka to purchase your ticket before boarding. PAYMENT BY CASH ONLY.
Caution: Although the Mitsushima boat is scheduled to depart six times a day, the 2nd and 5th departures may be canceled. These departures, in addition to connecting Zamami and Aka, also link to Tokashiki (Aharen). However, if no reservations are made for travel between Tokashiki and Zamami/Aka, the boat will not operate. Therefore, you need to check if a reservation has been made to confirm whether the 2nd and 5th departures will run. If you only wish to travel between Zamami and Aka without going to Tokashiki, you cannot make a reservation yourself. Reservations for these routes can only be made by passengers traveling between Tokashiki and Zamami/Aka.
Between Tokashiki (Aharen Port) and Zamami or Aka
If you wish to travel between Zamami Village and Tokashiki on the Mitsushima, a reservation is required by 5:00 p.m. the day before. The boat will not operate on this route unless a reservation has been made.
After booking, you still need to visit the Ticket Office in Zamami or Aka to pay and collect your ticket if you are boarding from Zamami or Aka. If you are boarding from Aharen Port (Tokashiki Island), please pay the captain directly in cash. PAYMENT BY CASH ONLY.
Reservations can be made by calling the Zamami Ticket Office at:
+81 98-987-2614 (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).
